The short version

  • Loop is a place to find and post group outdoor activities.
  • Each activity is organized by its host, not by Loop.
  • Outdoor activities carry real risks. You take part at your own risk.
  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Be honest, be respectful and follow the rules below.
  • We can remove content or accounts.

Who runs Loop

Loop is run by Loop Collective, LLC, an Idaho limited liability company. In these terms, "Loop," "we" and "us" mean Loop Collective, LLC. You can reach us at info@findaloop.xyz.

Agreeing to these terms

When you use Loop, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. That includes browsing the site, creating an account and joining an activity as a guest. If you don't agree, please don't use Loop.

You must be 18 or older to use Loop. Loop is for activities in the lower 48 states.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, host an activity, or join one as a guest.

What Loop is

Loop is a website where people post and find group outdoor activities. Loop doesn't organize, supervise or guide any activity. Loop doesn't screen hosts, participants or routes.

Loop is free right now. Paid features may be added later, and they would have their own terms.

Safety

Outdoor activities carry real risks. These include injury, bad weather, wildlife, getting lost and, in rare cases, death. When you join an activity, you take part at your own risk. You're responsible for your own safety and for deciding whether an activity is right for you.

  • Check with the host about the route, the difficulty and what to bring.
  • Tell someone where you're going and when you expect to be back.
  • Check the weather and bring water, food and the right gear.
  • Wear a helmet or life jacket when the activity calls for one.
  • Use your own judgment. If something doesn't feel right, leave.

Loop isn't for emergencies. In an emergency, call 911.

Accounts and guests

To host an activity, you need an account. You give an email address and a password. Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

To join as a guest, you give your full name and email address and confirm through an emailed link. Guests can't host.

Give accurate information. Don't pretend to be someone else.

Hosting an activity

If you host an activity, you're responsible for it. That means you:

  • Give accurate details about the activity, including the date, time, difficulty and meeting point.
  • Pick a meeting point you're comfortable making public. Anyone can see it.
  • Get any permission, permits and approvals the activity needs. This applies especially to trail work, races and activities on private land or land with rules. Loop doesn't check.
  • Follow the rules of the land and trail where the activity takes place.
  • Cancel the activity with the Cancel button if plans change. Hosts cancel activities instead of deleting them.

Joining an activity

If you join, show up or leave the activity so the host knows you're not coming. You can leave any time before it starts.

Races are listed for information. Sign-ups happen with the race organizer, not through Loop.

What you post

You own what you post. By posting on Loop, you give Loop permission to store, display and share it on the site and in link previews. You promise you have the right to post it.

What you post on Loop is public. That includes activity details, your display name and your photo.

Rules

Don't use Loop to:

  • Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful content.
  • Do anything illegal, or plan an illegal activity.
  • Spam, advertise or promote something unrelated to Loop.
  • Post fake or misleading activities.
  • Post someone else's personal information without their permission.
  • Break, overload or get around the site, including with bots or automated sign-ups.

Removing content and accounts

We can remove any activity, post or account at any time, with or without notice. We may do this if something breaks these terms or puts people at risk.

To report a problem, email info@findaloop.xyz.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Upcoming activities you host will be cancelled. Past activities you hosted will stay on Loop without your name. See our Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what may remain briefly in logs.

Loop uses other services for maps, weather, email and hosting. Links on Loop can take you to other sites, like map apps and social media. Loop isn't responsible for those services or sites. Weather forecasts come from the National Weather Service and can be wrong.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains what information Loop collects and how it's used. Activity pages are public.

No warranties

Loop is provided "as is" and "as available." Loop is new and may have bugs, downtime or errors. Loop doesn't promise that it will always be available or that activities, hosts or other users are safe, accurate or reliable.

Limits on liability

Loop Collective, LLC isn't responsible for injuries, losses or damages that come from an activity, from other users or from using the site. This applies as far as the law allows. If we are still found responsible, our total liability to you for any claim about Loop is limited to the greater of the amount you've paid Loop or $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

If your activity, your posts or your behavior leads to a claim against Loop, you agree to help cover the costs, as far as the law allows.

Changes

We may change Loop or these terms. When these terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Loop after a change, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms follow the laws of the State of Idaho.

If you have a problem with Loop, please email info@findaloop.xyz first, and we'll try to work it out with you in good faith. If we can't, any dispute will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Idaho.
