Built for the outdoors

Made for connection.

Stuart and his dog Max on a mountain bike ride I've been mountain biking for over 20 years, and one of my favorite parts of riding has always been the people you meet along the way. There's something special about getting a group together, exploring new trails and sharing the experience with others.

The idea for Loop came from something I kept seeing on Facebook: people looking for riding partners, organizing group rides and trying to find others who wanted to get outside. I saw an opportunity to make those connections easier.

Taking a break on a rocky ridge with Max What started as an idea for mountain biking grew into something bigger. Because getting outside isn't limited to one activity. Whether you're riding singletrack, hiking a mountain, running a trail or exploring somewhere new, the experience is often better when you have others to share it with.

FAQs

Q) Is Loop really free?
A) Yes. Loop is free, and there will always be a free version. Paid tiers are planned for later.

Q) Do I need an account to join an activity?
A) No. With an account, you join in one click. Without one, you can join as a guest. Enter your name and email, then confirm with the link Loop emails you. The link works for 24 hours. If it expires, join again to get a new one. If the email doesn't show up, check your spam folder.

Q) Can I leave an activity after I join?
A) Yes. If you're signed in, use the Leave This Activity button on the activity page. If you joined as a guest, use the leave link in your confirmation or update email.

Q) Who can host an activity?
A) Anyone with an account. Guests can't host. There's no limit on group size.

Q) What kinds of activities can I post?
A) Mountain biking, gravel rides, e-bike rides, hiking, trail running, paddle boarding, races and trail work.

Q) Will you be adding more activity types?
A) I'm not sure yet. If there's demand, most likely.

Q) Where does Loop work?
A) Loop is built for the lower 48 states.

Q) Who runs the activities?
A) Each activity is organized by its host, not by Loop. Loop only helps people find each other. Use your own judgment about what's safe for you.

Q) Are activities public?
A) Yes. Anyone can see an activity page, signed in or not. That includes the date, the meeting point and who's going. Members show up with their display name. Guests show up with the full name they entered. Loop doesn't show email addresses on activity pages. Loop doesn't have private activities.

Q) What happens when an activity is cancelled?
A) Hosts cancel activities instead of deleting them. A cancelled activity stays visible and is marked Cancelled, and people who joined get an email. Loop removes it 7 days after its start date.
